As some of you might not know what an untether is, let me explain in a nutshell.

An untethered jailbreak has persistence, this means it will NOT require you to re-jailbreak manually after you restart the phone, and the jailbreak will be automatically applied. Once the device boots, it is already jailbroken and the themes and tweaks have already been applied.
the last untethered jailbreak was Pangu for #iOS 9.0 to 9.1, more than 1 year ago. Recently, @tihmstar has created an Untether package for iOS 9.3.4 (Home Depot) 32-Bit jailbreak users, which was the very first iOS 9.3.x Untether. Today, @tihmstar posted on his Twitter the fact that the untether package is now supporting iOS 9.2.1 as well.

Keep in mind that he is talking about #32-Bit devices only. You can't untether the #Pangu #jailbreak (64-Bit) with this.
Speaking about untethers, after Phoenix Jailbreak for iOS 9.3.5 got released, there were rumors that someone was working on an untether, anyways, the untether hasn't been released so I assume the rumors were in fact false. Popular jailbreaking team Pangu is skipping an iOS 9.3.5 jailbreak tool and is instead focusing on the next major OS upgrade – the iOS 10, Yibada reported. Rumor has it that they are already working on it, thus they cannot be held back to release a tool for the current iOS versions since these will soon be replaced by the iOS 10.
The iOS 10 is likely to come soon, as it is expected to be showcased in its entirety during Apple's keynote event on Sept. 7. Its launch will soon follow and if rumors are true, Pangu will release a jailbreak tool for it.
The Cupertino-based company is strengthening its stand against jailbreaks, mainly because of security concerns. A report from Game N Guide indicated that even though Pangu was able to show off a cracked iOS 10 beta at the MOSEC 2016, more patches may have been added since then that may thwart their efforts.
Back to the iOS 9.3.5, The New York Times previously reported that this was released as a security patch in light of the privacy intrusions by the Israeli group NSO. The group launched a piece of software that can track a handset without being detected.
Apple's latest iOS software update patched three previously unknown security vulnerabilities, so all users are recommended to download and install the iOS 9.3.5.
